One of the better aspects of being a game developer in Finland is the active local scene. The wonderful volunteer work by the Finnish IGDA chapter has a lot to do with that. Typically a Finnish IGDA event consists of a few presentations followed by an evening of socializing with your peers and beers.

Yesterday was one of those nights, with “Startup Stories” as the theme. We were there sharing the stage with an inspiring roster of local young companies, namely Relationship Games, Rocket Pack, Ironstar Helsinki, Uplause and Fantastec. Be sure to check them out!
Also Ilari Kuittinen from Housemarque and the legendary Trip Hawkins popped by to share their startup experiences. If you missed the presentations, dontcha worry: they’re available online and well worth a watch!
